Is Your Website Mobile Ready?

Posted by:

Smartphones and tablets are becoming the most commonly used devices for mobile computing with their popularity rivaling that of standard laptop computers.  While browsing on the go, most people turn to their smartphones or tablets for the convenience, so companies have to jump on the bandwagon to ensure their websites are mobile friendly.  Because Web traffic from these devices is steadily increasing, websites that have not been optimized for mobile browsing are losing out on what could become a big pay-off in the coming years.

When browsing on websites in general, users are looking for less complexity and easy navigation.  That need is magnified when mobile browsing is a factor, and website owners need to understand that making their website mobile device-friendly improves the user experience.  Many website owners have been reluctant to take the plunge into developing a mobile website because of the expense that is entailed in making the change.  Reports, however, have indicated, that companies that optimize there sites for mobile browsing see greater returns in visitors and interactions, especially for retail shopping websites.  User loyalty can depend on whether or not a website’s needs are meeting the needs of the users, so this is something more that should be taken into consideration with cost aside.

It’s inevitable that the world is going mobile as the market and desire for smartphones and tablets continue to grow.  Now is the time for website owners to re-evaluate the users’ online-experiences and decide “Is my website ready to meet the users’ mobile needs?”  The answer is likely to be yes or no, so what will you do about it?
