DOCSIS Pre-Equalization Webinar 2018-04-10T12:32:10+00:00

There is a great feature called pre-equalization in DOCSIS 2.0 and higher CMTSs that tells cable modems to adjust their internal equalizer to compensate for upstream impairments in the network. You can turn on pre-equalization with a simple one-line command and it instantly improves the upstream signal quality from the cable modems to the CMTS.

In addition to the immediate benefit of improved quality of service for subscribers that pre-equalization offers, pre-equalization data can be used to create a Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) tool that will allow you to find and fix upstream impairments before they impact your subscribers.

In this informative webinar, Brady Volpe, CEO of Nimble This and a member of the CableLabs InGeNeOs group focusing on PNM development, along with Scott Helms, Vice President of Technology for ZCorum, will explain how pre-equalization works. They will also discuss how this game-changing capability can significantly reduce your operational costs and increase subscriber satisfaction.

You’ll learn:

  • The benefits of pre-equalization
  • Things to know before turning on pre-equalization
  • How pre-equalization data can be used for proactive network maintenance.
