Self-Installation Tools
ZCorum understands the challenges facing broadband providers in attracting and installing new customers in a cost-effective manner. To help lower the operational costs of installing broadband services for new customers, ZCorum has developed a self-installation tool called TruckStop. TruckStop can be used in two ways--as a technician-assisted installation, or your customers can install your broadband service on their own, at a time that is convenient.

A technician can use TruckStop to reduce the time they spend on each new customer installation. In addition to checking whether the customer's computer is IP-ready and capable of supporting your broadband service, TruckStop will automatically configure the customer’s computer and email client, giving the technician time to work on wiring issues, install filters or share product and service information with the customer.

TruckStop also gives you the option of offering a self-install kit, so consumers no longer have to make an appointment for a technician to install service. With this option, consumers can enjoy the flexibility of setting up the connection at the time of their choosing, and you save money by not having to roll a truck. The customer will see detailed, step-by-step instructions for all connections, and TruckStop automatically configures Internet and email settings to match your service. When configurations are complete, TruckStop will test the connection to confirm it is working properly, and set the customer's starting home page to your Web site. You can even create custom, web-based marketing messages that appear during installation, which can be updated whenever you like, without the need for a change to the software.

A bonus feature of the TruckStop software is its built-in Self-Repair Technician. The end user has the option of launching this helpful tool when they experience trouble with their broadband connection. The Self-Repair Technician can correct certain problems the user may have caused independently, guide the user through resolutions of other problems and generate a report of system data to assist the technical support staff in troubleshooting the issue.
