TruVizion Keeps ZCorum Customers Coming Back

Posted by:

art-not-talkingI’ve been blogging about TruVizion and diagnostics for cable modem networks for quite awhile now. I thought you might like to hear from a few actual TruVizion users about their actual experiences, for a change.

Read on to see why ZCorum’s Affiliates love TruVizion and how it helps them manage their network on a daily basis:

TruVizion helps Rancho Murieta’s staff track down issues

Located 25 miles east of downtown Sacramento, Rancho Murieta is a gated golf community situated on 3,500 acres in the Sierra Foothills. The Rancho Murieta Association is one of the governing bodies for the community, and also provides cable TV and broadband services to the 5,500 residents there.

“Unlike larger cable operations, we don’t have a lot of staff to track down plant issues or to keep up with different types of technology,” said Paul Venturella, Rancho Murieta’s Communications Manager. “It’s nice to have access to a tool like TruVizion and to know that I can call on ZCorum if we’re having an issue or just need some advice.”

TruVizion helps ElbertonNet reduce operational costs

The City of Elberton, known as the Granite Capital of the World for its production of granite monuments, serves a rural and resort population of about 5,000 residents.

ElbertonNET and ZCorum use TruVizion to troubleshoot and diagnose customer issues, such as VoIP quality, tracking modem and CMTS performance, and determining whether a truck roll is needed and the level of technician that should be sent out. “TruVizion has been invaluable to ElbertonNET in improving and maintaining peak performance in our cable modem network, as well as reducing our operational costs,” said Lanier Dunn, Elberton’s City Manager.

TruVizion helps MyCityCable see history clearly

City of Poplar Bluff Municipal Utilities and City Cable in Poplar Bluff, Missouri nominated TruVizion for the inaugural Fierce15 awards from FierceCable.

According to Michael Pry, network administrator, “Before we got TruVizion, we were unable to see any kind of historical data on our modems and CMTS. If something happened during the night but wasn’t happening the next morning, we wouldn’t see it. Now, not only do we have historical data on every cable modem in the system, we can even look at historic levels for all upstream and downstream channels for up to 90 days in the past.”

TruVizion helped Crestview Cable stop chasing problems

Tony Ashcraft, Manager at Crestview Cable in Prineville, Oregon, has nothing but praise for TruVizion. He says the application has definitely reduced the number of truck rolls, as well as the amount of time a technician spends in the field when one is needed.

“We have a relatively small plant, with three head-ends that are thirty to sixty miles apart, so it’s important for us to be efficient. With the live data, historical reporting and mapping that are available in TruVizion, we don’t have to send our techs out in the field to chase down problems. Instead, we can decide right from our office whether we need to roll a truck, and if so, where to send it and what they should look for when they get there.”
