Application leverages TR-069 standard for diagnostics and modem management
Alpharetta, Ga. (February 05, 2013) — ZCorum, a leading provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics software, announced today that TruVizion, their popular diagnostics application, is now available for DSL providers. The application, utilizing the Broadband Forum’s TR-069 standard, has been in development at ZCorum since 2012. That project was announced last year at the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association Expo. With the recent successful completion of the diagnostics application, ZCorum is offering demonstrations and answering questions at the 2013 NTCA Expo this week in Orlando, Florida.
Skinner will be demonstrating the TruVizion application at the Telecom Expo this week along with a special interactive area featuring TechVizion, the mobile application version of TruVizion designed for field technicians. According to Skinner, TechVizion is a true mobile application that allows technicians in the field to view key performance stats on DSL modems, cable modems and the CMTS in real-time on mobile devices.ZCorum Vice President, Arthur Skinner, speaking at the Expo said, “In the past, unlike the cable side, DSL had no single organization responsible for the development of standards. With the development of the TR-069 standard, ZCorum has been able to leverage the TruVizion diagnostics application for the DSL side, allowing providers to be more efficient in their operation, manage their networks better, and resolve issues faster.”
“With the rollout of our DSL diagnostics products we’re helping DSL providers bridge the gap that has plagued them as far as diagnostics and configuration management,” said Skinner. “Now they will be able to view real-time and historical modem stats, as well as compare readings from nearby modems and plot them on a map.” Skinner also noted that the Auto Configuration Server (ACS) lets operators reboot modems and update modem firmware remotely. “Until now, Telco’s haven’t had the advantages that cable providers have had with diagnostics and modem management, but with TruVizion they finally have the tools to help them improve their operation and the reliability of their service.”
Later this month ZCorum will again demonstrate TruVizion and TechVizion for DSL Providers at the Georgia Telecommunications Association’s 16th Annual Vendor Showcase held on February 12th and13th in Macon, Georgia.
