Alpharetta, GA (March 27, 2009) — ZCorum, a leading provider of broadband Internet solutions, announced today the successful integration of their cable modem provisioning system with the popular CATvMaster subscriber management and billing software from Azar Computer Software Services.
Azar now recognizes ZCorum as an integrated provisioning vendor, and any broadband provider that uses both Azar and ZCorum's provisioning and subscriber management tools are eligible for integration. Integrating the two systems provides a single point of entry for account data, simplifying and accelerating the account provisioning process while also reducing the likelihood of mistakes in billing. For small and mid-sized broadband service providers, streamlining provisioning and billing processes can boost productivity by allowing a small staff to focus on efforts that will grow the business.
“Completing the integration saves us so much time.” said Randy Loop, Chief Technician at CoMPAS Cable, a municipal video and broadband network owned and operated by the City of Morganton, North Carolina. "Our CSRs are happy about the single point of entry and they can be more productive now."
CoMPAS was established in the early nineties to offer Morganton residents more channels and better service. After a successful launch of video services, CoMPAS began delivering broadband Internet access in 2004. ZCorum has been providing provisioning and email services, along with network and end-user support for CoMPAS since the very first broadband customer signed up.
CoMPAS experienced significant uptake for its broadband service, and managing customer accounts eventually became cumbersome. Customer service representatives had to enter customer data in separate systems to create a new account. Then, if a customer moved, changed their contact information or if an account was put on hold, each system also had to be updated. Loop explained that having multiple points for data entry created a backlog of work, increasing the possibility of errors and mismatches between the data in each system.
To help improve efficiency in managing customers, CoMPAS asked ZCorum and Azar to develop a solution that would result in a single point of entry for all customer data. Over a six month period, the three companies worked together to reconcile databases, configure interfaces and test the newly integrated systems to ensure proper performance.
CoMPAS General Manager Bill Harkins reiterated how important integration between the ZCorum and Azar systems is to the future growth of the firm. “We have several opportunities in the works to grow our business, but serving more customers would be difficult without the efficiency created by a single point of entry. Integration with ZCorum and Azar allows us to serve our customers better and faster,” said Harkins.
ZCorum's Vice President of Technology, Scott Helms, said that integrating with Azar will help several more customers achieve the efficiency and convenience that CoMPAS now enjoys. “We take our relationships with our customers seriously and we are invested in their success. When a customer needs our help on a project that can save them time and money and improve their processes, we do all we can to help them. Working with Azar to integrate our systems is beneficial to both companies and adds value for our mutual customers.”
