FiberVU has allowed Sitwifi to reduce the time to deploy fiber endpoint devices at two properties to a fraction of what it is used to take.
Alpharetta, GA (April 15, 2024) – ZCorum announced today that Sitwifi, which recently licensed the company’s FiberVU software, has already seen significant gains in productivity from use of the application. Sitwifi is headquartered in Mexico City and offers broadband service in international airports, hotel rooms, classrooms, subway and bus stations, shopping malls and via municipality hotspots. FiberVU provides the operator with zero-touch service activation, remote device management and diagnostics for their fiber networks and devices.
ZCorum’s Fiber VU is a comprehensive fiber activation and diagnostics application compatible with multiple fiber vendor platforms. This technology now empowers Sitwifi to significantly streamline provisioning, manage subscriber and device information, and support its rapidly expanding subscriber base without being confined to specific fiber equipment vendors.
Sitwifi’s decision to integrate ZCorum’s Fiber VU into their operations stemmed from a search for a provisioning platform compatible with the TR069 protocol. “We were interested in finding a tool that supported TR069 to improve our efficiency in device activation”, shared Gustavo Caballero, GPON Specialist at Sitwifi. FiberVU includes a TR-069 Auto Configuration Server (ACS) that provides auto-registration of devices by serial number, so there is no need to preconfigure the ONT slot and port for every device. This increases the speed, efficiency and accuracy of device provisioning.
Sitwifi has already seen tangible results from their collaboration with ZCorum, experiencing significant improvements in efficiency and resource utilization. “With FiberVU we were able to activate all of the devices at two of our properties in just two weeks, when that would have taken us four months before,” said Caballero.
