Gigabit Connections with MoCA Technology
Nokia’s Gigabit Connect solution, featuring MoCA Access technology, offers broadband service providers a streamlined method to deliver high-speed internet services to MDUs. By utilizing existing coaxial cable infrastructure, this solution reduces deployment complexity and costs while providing a high quality user experience.
How It Works:
DPU Installation: The InCoax D2501 DPU is installed at the buildings entry point, connecting the FTTH network to the existing coaxial cable system.- Modem Deployment: InCoax A101 or A251 modems are installed in each subscribers unit, providing high-speed internet access.
- Network Configuration: The system is configured to support either P2P or P2MP topologies, depending on the building’s layout and subscriber requirements.
- Management Integration: The network is integrated into Nokia’s Altiplano SDAN Management Platform, allowing for centralized monitoring and management.
Advantages:
- Cost Savings: Utilizes existing coax cable, eliminating the need for expensive and disruptive rewiring.
- High Performance: Delivers symmetrical speeds up to 2 Gbps with low latency, supporting high-demand applications.
- Scalability: Supports up to 16 subscribers per DPU, with the ability to expand as demand increases.
- Simplified Management: Centralized control through Nokia’s Altiplano platform streamlines network operations and maintenance.
Deployment Scenarios:
- Urban MDUs: Ideal for densely populated areas where new fiber installations are challenging or cost prohibitive.
- Rural Areas: Provides a cost-effective solution for extending broadband services to underserved regions.
- Mixed-Use Buildings: Suitable for buildings with a combination of residential and commercial units, offering tailored solutions to meet diverse needs.
