The company’s web-based Upstream Analyzer software for DOCSIS networks now allows cable operators to look back in time at the return path signal from the CMTS.
Alpharetta, GA (May 10, 2016) — ZCorum, an industry leader in the deployment of managed diagnostics tools and software for broadband providers, has announced the release of version 3.0 of their Upstream Analyzer software. Upstream Analyzer uses technology from Nimble This and CableLabs to collect and display the upstream spectrum data directly from the CMTS. The 3.0 release adds a monitor feature that records the upstream spectrum, allowing an operator to look back in time for ingress in the return path, rather than having to actively watch the analyzer for bursts of noise.
“Our customers love having the ability to look at their upstream spectrum in real-time from anywhere they are,” said Rick Yuzzi, Vice President of Marketing for ZCorum. “Now they can click a play button and see what the noise level on the upstream looked like in the past. That’s a great feature, because ingress is often intermittent and can be hard to catch right when it’s happening.” Yuzzi said ZCorum offers Upstream Analyzer in a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, eliminating the need for a hardware-based analyzer or expensive monitoring equipment in the headend. “All you need is your CMTS, so it’s very affordable. Plus, any number of technicians can access the analyzer, and spectrum can be viewed from any location on a PC or laptop.”
“We’re happy to be able to upgrade our current customers to this latest version at no charge,” said Julie Compann, President and CEO at ZCorum. “The new monitoring feature in Upstream Analyzer adds a significant new capability, and is right in line with our goal to provide cable operators with a suite of software and services that reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.”
